Blood Tests

A blood test involves taking a blood sample for laboratory testing and is one of the most common medical tests. It can assess overall health, confirm infections, and evaluate organ function, particularly the liver and kidneys. Typically, a phlebotomist takes the sample from a vein in the arm, usually at the inside of the elbow or wrist. For children, samples are often taken from the back of the hand, which may be numbed with a cream beforehand.
